WEEK 2 IN FINLAND!!

Johnny trying to be Tarzan in the jungle....
Elder Robinson and Elder Caffaro found a new hobby?!
Johnny just wanted to pose for all of us with his new hat that he made!!

The story behind this picture, I guess Elder Caffaro was picking at his tooth like he had food in it or something, and everyone that knows Johnny knows that he ALWAYS does that. So one of the other elders saw Johnny doing it and told them it was very polite so Johnny grabbed his toothbrush out of his bag.. ha ha what a nerd!!
Elder Robinson and Caffaro posing for.... well we dont know what but they think they are GQ!!
Sunny's Baptism on Saturday Afternoon!
Elder Caffaro Knocking doors...
Im assuming Johnny wanted to jump in the pool, not sure what he was doing in this picture!?

WOW!!!!! Can you believe another week has gone by so dang quickly? If I dont write things down I will for sure forget them because, boy of boy does time fly by so dang fast out in the mission field! Ok, Questions first... I will answer them the best I can. I am serving in the Helsinki area, we just live in Haaga. So the city is ours and where we live is where we eat sleep and study and nothing really else. The weights are the apartments so whoever gets this apartment is pretty dang lucky. So people have asked if email is good and handwritten letters are good? I like both it would be good to receive both because it makes email fun and wow it for sure makes our study sessions way fun waiting for the post lady to drop a letter into our slot, so you can decide!! But emails are great and letters are amazing!! I can receive pictures and everything through email... but it is also good to have hard copies so i can hang them up in the apartment. The e-mail thing is just normal, its not strict at all. The people here in finland are great they are very quite and don't like to smile much but when you talk to them and say olen ollut tallä sumiessä kymmen paivia they go nuts and get a big smile on their face because I just said I have been in finland for ten days now and they all say you speak such great finnish how do you do it. So then we talk about why were here and great things like that. We go tracting on Fridays, Saturdays we are loving life right now!! So YALL like our apartment eh? Well i do to, the finns are a wealthy people and the apartments are fairly nice so we got hooked up!! Hopefully that answered everyones questions i hope so haha i am sorry if not but i tried to write them all down.

Ok so Tueday was great we studied than had a dinner appointment at our ward mission leaders house great food FISH Potatoes!! So many great things the bread is better and of course the FINNS Love there ice cream and as do I. Than after that we had a teach around TWO with this 85 year old woman that is getting baptisied next friday the teaching went well but its hard to understand what is being said. Oh well it will come I have faith just keep praying for me. Than we had another teaching with Kirsi she is turning 18 this month and she is wanting to be baptised but her parents dont really want her to all, so this lesson was on me teaching about the sacred grove and how I was so blessed to of gone there and visit, and yep I did it all finnish haha!! After that we had a teaching with Sunny she is from germany and she is the one who got baptizied this last Saturday, we had to set up all her baptisimal things like who is baptising and the confirmation than we went home and had an intense ABB work out haha!!!

Wednesday was a fun day because we had a DA (dinner appointment) with EMMA really good food burritos and chocolate cake wow oh wow was I stuffed I gained 2.5 kgs like 6 pounds, haha it was funny!! We went contacting for a bit and got a girls number to come to the American Night so that was good! Then went to the Out Reach center and made 68 phone calls to get people to come to american night. Wednesday nights are soccer nights... but we just watched than the ZLs ( Zone Leaders) interview Sunny for saturday.

Thursdays are not fun.. We plan the next week til two. But we killed 11 bees that morning nice huh dad you and E.J. had problems with mice and cockroaches we have them with bee's funny huh. huh dad huh dad!!! haha! After that we had another DA (dinner appointment) I love DA's all in finnish I am speaking alot better. Trying to spit out the words than I was stuffed to the max and I couldn't eat anymore and there was more meat left so of course freakin Elder Robinson puts the meat on my plate and makes me eat it because you can't leave anything on your plates because it is very rude!! So YES mom and dad I finnish everything on my plate now, imagine that. haha!! So I was going to die and when they started putting the food away to bring out desert I asked if I could use the bathroom and exploded and I used the MEMBERS BIDET (baday) when Elder Robinson heard that he was laughing his head off it was way funny not going to lie!! We were buying bananas after that and this african man stopped us and started talking about our church got his number and we are going to set up something this week with him. WOW BANANA RAMMA was a blast for american night. Each group had three bananas and had to measure things around the city, it was way fun.

Ok we had a service project this weekend to Escort these world Renound Doctors, they all spoke russian it was so funny. After that we had a teach with Lotta and talked to her about quiting smoking.. we went tracting after that and it was my door and they came to the door and I said moi miten menne? and they answered and i said I am Elder Caffaro and this is my girlfriend pointing to Elder Robinson, wow it was so funny and by the way this was all in finnish. But hey the lady laughed to and we got a teaching out of it. I said tyyttö ystävä and its just ystävä great storu eh?

Ok saturday was cool we did the doctor thing again and after we went to the harbor and looked at all this sweet shops so nice stuff. Than we went to the church and started filling up the font and got ready for Sunnys baptism. I finally spelled baptism right haha gosh that took forever. Elder Robinson gave a great talk on baptism. Had a teaching with Jere afterwards and he is the one getting baptised this friday. After we were all leaving the Out Reach center and Kirsi looked really sad, so I asked her if she wanted a blessing gave her one and the spirit was so strong she is the one that knows everything is so true but cant because of her parents. We were all crying and we sat down and she started baring her testimony. WOW OH WOW MISSIONARY WORK IS AMAZING. I love being here and helping the people of Finland realize how much their Heavenly Father loves them so dang much I felt it so much for Kirsi so that was a really cool experience for me.

Sunday the big day for my talk in sacrament haha it was so funny I talked about my self and told them I play football and told them that I am a ripped dude in helsinki slang and the whole ward busted up laughing and when I said that I put my hands up and flexed everyone came up to me and said I liked that a lot, its something different so funny.. Then we confirmed Sunny and she asked me to join in the circle. after we went tracting I love mission work its hard thats for sure but it is so rewarding. I love you all so much I am sorry i don't have time to email you all but I have time to hand write letters today... but make sure you all write me too hahah THANKS SO MUCH FOR WRITING me and being my family. Its so fun being on mission and just gaining a closer realtionship with the Lord he is amazing.

Love you all Vanhin Caffaro

Hey Family!
Wow I love finland it is so dang fun. Ok let me get started on what I want to share with you this last week.Maanantai-(Monday) I left the mtc and it was really weird to be driving to the airport not gonna lie haha but way happy to leave

Tiistia- (Tuesday) Arrived in finland met the mission president and the ap's with a hug. They are awesome. I was just in shock looking around the country as we were driving to the mission home everything is so so dang green, because it pretty much rains 24\7 here. Wow this keyboard is so weird to write on. Later that night we had a little spiritual meeting and ate and then went straight to bed i went to bed 8 at night i was so dang tired.

Keskikkiivko-(Wen) Woke up had breakfast went to the mission office and filled out all our mission stuff that was not fun at all haha. We get a 180 Euros a month so its not much at all cause everything here is so dang expensive. Than at 11:30 am we had lunch had a new missionary training meeting and we met our new companions. My companion is so so dang tight as I was telling you last week in my letter he is a major stud. We left and and went and became a citizen of Finland than later that night we had to make about 75 phone calls to contacts we have met on the metros, trains and buses to have them come to american night. I am an out reach missionary so what me and my companion do is we meet and contact people within the age groups of 18-30 and invite them to american night where we play american games and after try to talk to them about the gospel and set up appointments its so much fun i am totally meant for this place haha. Elder Robinson is from Oregon he is 21 and goes to Oregon State is that enough info mom? HA he has been out a year and is a great missionary also his finnish is way good. We went to the apartment put my bags back down and went out food shopping its so weird to shop for yourself but hey its a great experience so its all good. The First thing i put into my shopping cart was Protein powder yeeeyaaahhhh thats what i am talking about. As you all can tell with My MTV crib that we've got the nicest joint in finland haha. I worked out the first night i was in our apartment i felt like i was in heaven I loved it. Ok ok you guys Toilet paper is just nasty i will never use it again i love using the BAaday however you spell it. It was so weird at first shooting pressure water up your butt but its so nice cause your not smearing it everywhere! I would for sure look into it if i was you. I won't be using toilet paper for the next two years thats for sure haha.

Torstai- (Thursday) Well i finally started the regular schedule of a missionary in the field we wake up at 7 in finland so thats really nice, we go straight to the living room and start working out to MOTAB i am just happy we have a bench bar and dumbbells that really is freaking awesome. Then after that we shower and get ready for the day and have individual studies than we have companion studies those are fun after that every thursday we have weekly planning sessions those last for so dang long i wanted to shoot myself but oh well its all good. We finally left around 2 is or 3 and went and checked out some gyms that we can sign up for and its only 7£ a month thats so cheap!! Than we came back to the apartment ate lunch than headed to the Metros its like the subways and we began contacting, i tried it a little bit but than i couldn't understand what they were saying at all but you all know me being daring and all. Ok no one speaks English here at all they all speak finnish they only speak english if you speak to them and its not even that good english so i was way taken back by that but it was way cool to see that everyone is speaking finnish. Next we met at the train station at 6 to pick up our contacts to come to american night we usually play american games and do a bunch of fun things like that. The out reach center is the bomb we have huge plasma's, pool tables and xbox360 but no missionaries play it just for the investagators and we bring all of our teaches there so its a way nice place i am really glad that i get to serve so dang close to helsinki.

Friday- Was fun we helped out at the Helsinki City Marthon and that was held in the Finland Olympic center so it was dope we handed out some of the shirts to the runners i was saying.. Moi Mitä koko ja kirjekuori haha that means hello what size do you wear and i need to see your runners envelope good finnish huh?! I thought so too. We all got shirts they are freakin sweet, Elder Robie has 5 different kinds for helping in so many so I am excited. We than came back to our apartment made so food and went over some finnish phrases for a bit than went to bed.

launantai- (Saturday) Was way fun again went to the marathon and helped outside giving out ice cream helping with the gatorade guys giving away so much stuff it was pooring rain i made so many friends with the venders like dannon yogurt, the banana man the the cracker man so we are stacked for the next two weeks on groceries and than some people hooked me and my companion up with nike polo's and nike shirts dang i am already getting the connections here in finland i love being a connection man haha. we stayed at the marathon til 10 at night. I was so so tired and cold.

Ok sunday was NUTS NO JOKE i had the worst headache after 3 LONG LONG hours of finnish i didn't understand much at all sad huh but its ok all the members are so dang nice i love them all i have to speak in church next sunday for about 2 or 3 minutes and talk about myself boy oh boy is that going to be nuts... but i can do it haha they call me the ISO MIES BIG MAN feed him so we have 5 dinner appointments this weeks crazy huh. Ok let me tell you all about my first DA it was all in finnish this old couple only knew finnish wow it was so dang hard to understand so i just let my companion do the talking and i was just packing down the food. The food is so so amazing and the ice cream was way good. I tried to talk the most i could but it was no good oh well what can you do haha. So after that we went back to our place and changed out of our suits got into our tracting clothes and went tracting for four hours.. i love tracting i talk as much as i can and when i get lost or totally can't understand them i just look at Elder robie. We go by robie and giovani on the metros haha funny huh.

Well life is freaking amazing, i don't know if i ever want to leave this place nah i am just kidding but the work is totally moving forward the lord blesses so many amazing people. We have 2 baptisims in the next 2 weeks we are way excited about that i love this work and more importantly i love the lord and you guys so very much. I am so blessed to have you all as my family thank you for everything and know that i am out doing the lords work and having a lot of fun while i am at it yeah buddy haha.
